Dämbaskogens naturstig
About the business
Dämbaskogen at Ödehoburga is a nature and culture trail on private land on Fårö. The aim of the cultural trail is to raise awareness of a relatively small area on Fårö that features both typical Fårö woodland and many fascinating archaeological remains, such as the ruins of sheep pens, lime kilns and various types of stone cairns. The largest stone cairns are 2,000-year-old graves, but there are also a large number of so-called ‘cultivation cairns’, which are remnants of previous generations’ hard work to ensure their survival. The signposted walking trail is approximately 1,200 metres long, with benches and information boards to make the experience as pleasant and memorable as possible. About 200 metres off the trail lies an earth cellar with a stove and dry firewood, where you can enjoy a moment’s rest and relaxation. Please feel free to record your visit to Dämbaskogen by leaving a message in the guest book next to the information board!
