The farm is always open to visitors. The buildings will be open for viewing from 21 June to 23 August 2026, every Thursday to Sunday from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm Relax in the lovely farm setting – enjoy a coffee break with homemade pastries. For the children, there are large play areas and tricky puzzles to tackle, as well as cute lambs to look at. Vike boasts a history stretching back several hundred years, but Vike Heritage Farm is ‘only’ 200 years old. The farmhouse is a 18th-century-style double cottage with a small kitchen and a bedroom in the centre.The main living room – on the south side – was where work was carried out and where life usually took place. The ceremonial parlour faces north and was heated and opened up for various kinds of celebrations.The utility building houses the facilities essential for self-sufficiency, including a washing tub, a baking oven and a smoke and drying oven, as well as a room for salting meat.The long, thatched barn has a thatched roof and features a well-preserved threshing floor at one end. In a storage alcove are the double bed and old fishing gear – essential for fishing at an old coastal farmstead.The farm includes a kitchen garden with a hop plant over 300 years old. Hops were once grown for domestic use, but the focus is now mainly on older, drought-tolerant herbs. Right next to it lies Högården/the meadow, which was once vital for providing fodder for the animals during the winter. It is still managed in the traditional way. A path runs through it and across the pasture down towards the lake. Down there is a newly restored lakeside hut with an exhibition about life here by the lake.From there, you can continue across a footbridge and walk along the shore to the fishing village of Vike, where an old Estonian refugee boat from the early 1940s has found its final resting place. Then walk back along the old road to the farm, a distance of about 1.5 km.
