"Forest Walk with a Horse" approx. 45 mins Suitable for anyone who can manage a brisk walk. Young and old alike are welcome! 1–4 people Fancy doing something outdoors that’s cosy, moderately active, out in nature and a bit exciting? Horses – yes, of course, but not riding. What is the purpose of this walk? Getting out into nature and moving at a walking pace is a real boost to the health and immune system of both humans and horses. It’s something we need for our bodies to function naturally. Horses usually spend their time in enclosed spaces, just like us. Being able to move without having to do anything other than carry their own weight forward is very beneficial. A win-win! For those of you who’d like to turn the event into a ‘Walk with Coffee and Cake’, see point 6 below. What do you need for this adventure? An interest in walking. No experience with horses is required. You’ll receive all the guidance you need to manage the task. Does someone else in your party want to come along but doesn’t want to handle the horse? – Everyone’s welcome! Accompanying guests are free to walk as they please. Dogs must be kept on a lead.Clothing? You should wear walking-friendly clothes and shoes, and be dressed for the prevailing weather. No protective equipment is needed. Times and how does it work? Check which times are available and book via this link: We’ll meet outside Ekeskog’s riding school in the car park.We’ll walk together to Hästhagen, where you’ll be paired with your walking partner. There’ll be a brief introduction on how to communicate during the walk and what the conditions are like. The pace is usually a brisk walk, lasting around 45 minutes. You won’t be walking alone, but in a small group accompanied by a supervisor.Your equine companion will be returned to the paddock and we’ll say thank you for joining us. Fika after the walk? Of course! There are seats outside the paddock or in a warmer room, where you can enjoy your own Fika basket, or buy a ‘Fika basket’ from the centre. Cost? 350 SEK per horse.If there are others in your group who’d like to join but can’t handle more than one horse, their walk is included in your payment of 350:-.
