About the business

‘Cykelvänligast’ is a platform offering support, advice and inspiration to workplaces that want to make it easy for their staff to cycle to and from work. All workplaces on Gotland are welcome to sign up, and participation is free of charge! Around half of Swedes live less than five kilometres from their workplace, which for many means a journey that takes no longer than 20 minutes by bike. To encourage more people to cycle to and from work, it is important that employees feel the journey works seamlessly from door to door. The activities and support offered by the Cykelvänligast platform are therefore available free of charge to all workplaces on Gotland, to help you make it easier for your staff to cycle to work. The initiative is backed by Cykelfrämjandet and Svenska Cykelstäder in collaboration with local authorities and regions across Sweden, including Region Gotland. Why you should become a cycle-friendly workplace There are many benefits to becoming a cycle-friendly workplace. It means healthier staff, lower stress levels, a stronger environmental profile and greater competitiveness in the labour market. Many workplaces want to make it easier for their staff to cycle to and from work, but may not know how to go about it. By joining Cykelvänligast, workplaces gain access to a network where they can draw inspiration from one another and receive support on how to get started. Are you aiming to become the most cycle-friendly workplace in Sweden? If so, you also have the chance to win awards such as ‘Most Cycle-Friendly Workplace in Sweden’ and ‘Cycling Idea of the Year’.Here’s how it works: Workplaces wishing to take part in ‘Cykelvänligast’ appoint a contact person who registers the workplace on cykelvänligast.se and then completes a checklist that assesses how cycle-friendly the workplace is today. Depending on how many criteria the workplace meets, it is awarded between one and five stars. The more stars, the more cycle-friendly the workplace! Then it’s time to start ticking off more criteria and become even more cycle-friendly. Criteria might include, for example, the availability of cycle parking or the provision of showers and changing rooms at the workplace.Would you like to take part?
