The Virudden Race 2026

The race will take place on Thursday 16 July. It will be run on flat, fast courses in beautiful countryside on a Gotland summer’s evening. As usual, the event will begin with a children’s race, followed by a 5 km race for young people, whilst older participants can choose between 5 km or 10 km. Mascot: Niffe the Fox Niffe will be there to cheer on all the children. Niffe will also lead a warm-up with the children about 10 minutes before the start.Facilities: The start and finish are at the sports ground. Changing facilities and showers are available at the sports ground. There is a car park and a kiosk at the sports ground.Timing: Race numbers with chips will record your time at the finish line. All runners’ results will be available on our website immediately after the race. Medical care: Trained medical staff will be on hand at the start and finish to provide assistance. Prizes: The top three in each category will receive a prize. In addition, we will be holding a prize draw for all runners. In previous years, more than one in ten runners has won a prize, and our aim is to offer an equally impressive range of prizes this year. Children’s category The children’s category is open to all children; there is no age limit. Children aged 6 and under will run a course approximately 400 m long. Children aged 7 and over will run a course approximately 800 m long. No results will be published. On-the-spot registration; the entry fee is 70 kr. Payment by Swish or cash. On-the-spot registration from 16.30 to 17.50. A medal and an ice cream at the finish line for all children who take part. The mascot, Niffe the Fox, will be there to cheer on all the children. Niffe Räv will also lead a light warm-up before the start. The start and finish are at the sports ground; the course goes round the football pitch. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.
