Walpurgis Night celebrations on Gotland in 2027
PLEASE NOTE! VALBORG CELEBRATIONS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS (TO BE UPDATED IN APRIL 2027) Spring singing on the steps of S:t Hansskolan. NS will sing in the spring in the traditional manner from 7.00 pm to 7.30 pm _______________________________________ Fridhem 7.00 pm (The bonfire will be lit at around 7.30 pm) Spring speech by Katarina Sörlin and singing by the Tofta Men’s Choir. The coffee shop opens at 5.30 pm ________________________________________ Slite (Maritime Museum at 7.00 pm) The Slite Church and Local History Choir will sing. A speech to welcome spring. _______________________________________ Sanda (7.30 pm at Sanda Community Centre) _______________________________ Flundreviken (just north of Visby). Music by Gotland’s Mixed Wind Ensemble from 6.30 pm; the bonfire is lit at 7.00 pm. Sausages and coffee on sale. _______________________________ Kyrkviken on Fårö Walpurgis Night service and music in Fårö Church at 7.00 pm, followed by the bonfire being lit at 7.30 pm. _______________________________ Tingstäde. Torchlight procession from Polhemsgården at 8.15 pm, followed by the bonfire being lit by the pond. Fireworks. Bonfire before and after at the Gotland Defence Museum _______________________________ Kronvall’s fishing village in Eksta 8.00 pm Walpurgis Night celebrations at Kronvall’s fishing village with a speech by Sofia Hoas; the ‘Everyone Can Sing’ choir and, of course, some sausages and coffee on sale. _______________________________ Fårösund 20.00 A speech welcoming spring will be given by students on the creative writing course at the folk high school in Fårösund.
