Stilla Wu-Shu – improve your mental health through movement

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge is required. The course is open to anyone who wants to improve their health and explore their creative expression and Stilla Wu-Shu. It is also suitable for those who have taken this course before. Objectives The aim of the course is to reduce stress through gentle movements and to find joy in playful and improvised exercises. You’ll also practise creating your own movements and feel happy, relaxed and creative. Content During the course, you’ll: Learn basic movements inspired by the Chinese martial art Wu-Shu; create your own movements tailored to you; listen to your body and support its ability to heal itself; sit for a while in peace and quiet and meditate; practise breathing exercises. Course structure The course consists of five sessions, each lasting 2 study hours. Each session begins with a brief discussion, a warm-up, and basic exercises which are repeated and then developed further. You’ll receive guidance through every step, but you’ll also have plenty of freedom to create your own movements based on the signals your body gives you. The course takes place in a safe environment. Course leader Your course leader is a qualified health coach and has practised Wu-Shu since 1988. With over 18 years’ experience as a teacher in both Sweden and Kazakhstan, you’ll receive dedicated and knowledgeable guidance. The focus is on creating a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere where you can develop at your own pace. Good to know: Bring a towel
