Rookie Cup at Gotland Karting Ring

The Rookie Cup is a training competition in karting for aspiring top drivers and officials. It is run like a real race, but the difference is that instead of imposing penalties (such as time penalties), we provide drivers with tips and advice to help them learn. We also try to support mechanics, officials and parents, as there are usually quite a few questions. This is the fifth year running that the Rookie Cup has come to Gotland, and in previous years a wonderful atmosphere has developed! Here, we come together with a shared interest, share our experiences and combine seriousness with fun. In karting, boys and girls compete on equal terms, and the competition brings together beginners as well as slightly more experienced drivers, from the age of 7! Karting is also a gateway to other disciplines within motorsport. Claes Menander is the founder of the “Rookie Cup”, and this year’s event is being organised in collaboration with the MK Gutarna Karting Section.
