Aims: Would you like to give your furniture a new lease of life? By the end of the course, you will have developed in-depth skills in various practical aspects of furniture restoration and feel confident in refurbishing and preserving furniture in a creative and sustainable way.Prerequisites: This course is open to everyone – whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or have previous experience of furniture restoration and wish to develop your skills further.Course content: The course is designed to provide you with maximum support as you work on your own piece of furniture. You’ll work individually under the guidance of an experienced course leader. For beginners, we focus on: Basic techniques such as sanding, painting and simple repairs.For those with previous experience: More advanced techniques and methods tailored to your level. All participants will learn: Sanding, staining, painting and surface finishing. How to use various tools and materials to achieve the best results. Methods for repairing or restoring your specific piece of furniture.Choice of furniture: Please bring your own piece of wooden furniture to work on during the course! Beginners are advised to start with something simpler, such as a bench or similar. Your piece of furniture will be your project, and together we’ll learn techniques and methods suited to your specific project. Please feel free to bring an extra piece of furniture, as it is difficult to estimate how long the work will take and drying times are sometimes required. Course leader The course is led by a dedicated and knowledgeable course leader with extensive experience in furniture restoration. His passion for craftsmanship will inspire you! Good to know Please bring your piece of furniture, along with any accessories and materials you wish to use during the course. Some tools, such as a sander and a drill, will be available to borrow during the course. Further information will be provided in the course invitation.
