About Orup: Orup has had a long career and boasts one of the strongest song catalogues in Swedish pop.He first made his mark back in 1987 with the single “Är du redo”, which was followed by “Jag blir hellre jagad av vargar” – the song that became Orup’s big breakthrough. Since then, Orup has released ten studio albums featuring a host of classic hits such as “Stockholm”, “Regn hos mig”, “Magaluf” and “Tiden bara gick” from his latest full-length album “Född i november”. Orup has also enjoyed great success as a songwriter for artists such as Lena Philipsson and Linnea Henriksson. In the summer of 2012, Orup undertook a highly acclaimed tour, which was his first solo tour in 10 years.In the autumn of 2014, Orup premiered his own hit show “Viva La Pop” at Hamburger Börs, which was adored by audiences and praised in the media. By the time the final performance took place at Cirkus in Stockholm on 20 December 2016, there had been 213 sold-out shows, visits to 24 cities and over 150,000 tickets sold.By the summer of 2017, he was back on stage again – this time alongside GES at the ruins of Borgholm Castle. A “fun project” that left everyone wanting more and resulted in a massive GES tour in the summer of 2018, attracting more than 100,000 visitors. This sparked a desire to continue performing together, and the show “Stanna världen för en stund” was born. In the autumn of 2021, it was finally time for GES to hit the road again. By December 2022, they had performed the show 150 times, including four sold-out shows at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg and 81 sold-out shows at Cirkus in Stockholm.Over the years, Orup has been honoured with four Grammis Awards in the categories ‘Newcomer of the Year’, ‘Composer of the Year’, ‘Male Pop Artist’ and ‘Honorary Award of the Year’, Povel Ramel’s prestigious Karamelodikt Scholarship, the Evert Taube Prize and the King’s “Litteris et Artibus” medal – for outstanding artistic contributions to Swedish musical life. In January 2024, the show ‘Orup Bara’ at Rival in Stockholm, and following a successful spring in the capital, the show moved west to Draken Live in Gothenburg, where it ran throughout the autumn, before embarking on an extensive tour of Sweden in the spring of 2025. “Orup Bara” was seen by more than 101,000 audience members.
