Jens Hult to Kappelshamns Veranda

His music is characterised by a rare ability to capture life’s most important moments and touch the listener right in the heart. This summer he’s coming to Gotland and Kappelshamn’s Veranda. Jens Hult’s songs have become a natural accompaniment at weddings, christenings and funerals, not because they were written for those occasions, but because they feel genuine. That’s the difference between playing music and touching people’s hearts. Jens does the latter. On stage, he exudes the same warmth as in his recordings; there is no distance between the artist and the man. The simple meets the complex, the intimate meets the grand, and in that encounter something is created that is difficult to put into words but easy to feel. The audience ends up singing along, not because they’ve been asked to, but because they simply can’t help themselves. Beyond his own career, Jens is also a sought-after songwriter with a wide network within the Swedish music industry. He has collaborated with artists such as Victor Leksell, Robin Stjernberg, David Lindgren Zacharias, Sara Zacharias and Johan Lindbrandt, with his long-standing partner Björn Holmgren being one of his closest creative collaborators. With his latest project, *Hospitalet*, Jens is behind the song “Kanna På” – the new World Cup football anthem featuring Tommy Körberg and Markoolio. An artist who delivers both on record and on stage, and who leaves a lasting impression on the listener. “Getting to return to the island of sun and roses to play my songs is a great joy! When I was fifteen, I was on holiday on the island. Back then, I got to visit the Blue Lagoon, where I swam out to the deserted house in the middle of the lake. I sneaked a smoke, heard the sound of thunder over Fårösund and cycled around in the eternal night. I remember it as the most magical summer of my life, the one when everything happened!
