Harp and Wind Instruments: Stina Hellberg Agback, harp; Gotland Wind Quintet. For the first production in the Bygdegård series, the Gotland Wind Quintet has invited a masterful musician playing a majestic instrument. Harpist Stina Hellberg Agback trained in both classical music and jazz at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Berklee College of Music in Boston and Trinity College of Music in London. She grew up in Uppsala, where she began playing the harp at an early age. Stina Hellberg Agback composes her own music, has recorded several albums and collaborates with musicians across many genres. With its 48 strings and seven pedals, the majestic harp has been called the queen of the symphony orchestra. Its expressive possibilities are endless, and Stina Hellberg Agback makes the most of them. Together with the Gotland Wind Quintet, she performs well-known classical music for harp and wind instruments, as well as her own jazz compositions featuring elements of experimental improvisation.
