Grymling’s live performance at the ruins of St Nicolai’s
The hugely successful Swedish band Grymlings are making a long-awaited comeback and returning to the stage with music that has become part of Swedish music history. The band was formed around rock icon Mikael Rickfors in the late 1980s and took its name from his farm, Grymlings, on Gotland, where their debut album was also recorded in the summer of 1990. Grymlings had their big breakthrough with the song “Mitt bästa för dig”, which spent a total of 23 weeks on the Svensktoppen chart, 14 of them at number one. ‘Där gullvivan blommar’ was also a major hit and helped the debut album sell around 170,000 copies. The follow-up, *Grymlings II*, cemented the band’s position, with songs such as “En glädjesång” and “Väntar på en vän” featuring on the Svensktoppen chart. Today, Grymlings consists of Mikael Rickfors, Göran Lagerberg, Lasse Lindbom and Dan Hylander. On their new tour, entitled “Det bästa för dig”, the band will perform both Grymlings’ most beloved songs and classic solo hits from the members’ long careers. The audience can look forward to songs such as “Vingar”, “När stormen river öppet hav”, “Svart kaffe”, “Farväl till Katalonien”, “Every Raindrop Means a Lot” and “Tänd ett ljus”. Following the success of their early albums, Grymlings took an extended break, but reunited in 2004 with the album *Grymlings III*. Now, more than three decades after their breakthrough, Grymlings are back for good. In 2025 and 2026, new gigs await across the country – featuring music, stories and a treasure trove of songs that still resonate across generations.
