Gotland Music – Pegasus – World jazz

The magical Ale Möller can make a stone sing. In an exciting and entertaining encounter with the musical wizard Ale Möller, the Gotland Big Band treats the audience to sounds they have never produced before. Ale Möller calls his musical style ‘world jazz’ and describes it as a blend of folk music, world music and big-band jazz, influenced by his encounters with people and cultures over more than 50 years. Multi-instrumentalist Ale Möller is an internationally acclaimed and award-winning artist with star status both in Sweden and on major festival stages around the world. He began his musical career as an electric guitarist, switched to the jazz trumpet and was then captivated by the many expressions of folk music around the world. The musical work *Pegasus* is the result of an artistic residency with the Bohuslän Big Band at Vara Concert Hall in 2013. The name symbolises musical freedom and the ability to soar between different genres. The Gotland Big Band comprises almost all the musicians from Gotland Musik, supplemented by freelance musicians from the island and the mainland. Ticket sales start on 8 August
