Gotland Music – A Tribute to Malmkvist and Skifs

For this production, we have asked the young Gotland-based artists Stina Nordberg and Hjalmar Ljungberg to perform hits by Siw Malmkvist and Björn Skifs. In a programme brimming with energy and powerful emotions, we pay tribute to two of our most beloved artists and their significance to Swedish pop and schlager over more than six decades. Their long careers are impressive, to say the least. Last year, actress Stina Nordberg enjoyed great success alongside Lennart Bäck and the GotlandJazztrio in the Länsteatern production ‘Hjördis Pettersson – en stjärnas liv’. She grew up on Gotland, trained in Malmö and has been engaged by performing arts venues across the country. Hjalmar Ljungberg moved to Gotland in 2023 and has quickly established himself as a versatile musician, singer and arranger. Alongside his role as a trombonist with Gotlandsmusiken, he is very active in other areas of the music scene. The Gotlandsmusiken Orchestra comprises all fourteen of our musicians. The music has been specially arranged for this production by bassist Josef Karnebäck. Ticket sales begin on 8 August
