Galleri ars Gotlandica – Kicki Kolsjö Franzén and Monica Österdahl

The artist Kicki Kolsjö Franzén lives and works full-time as an artist in Follingbo on Gotland, where she runs Hagvards Galleri Igelkottmuseum together with her husband. She has been painting since she was a child and completed a two-year sculpture course from 2001 to 2003 at Gotland Art School. Over the years, she has both taken part in group exhibitions and held solo exhibitions. Kicki is a member of the Roxy Art Association and Open Studios, though she is taking a break from Open Studios this year. Kicki’s paintings always conceal a small creature or troll. These are usually not visible unless the viewer looks for them. Nature is an important part of her creative process and a source of inspiration. Monica Österdahl was born and raised on Gotland. She now divides her time between Stockholm and Slite. Monica has taken several courses in Vedic Art and acrylic painting and held her first exhibition in Stockholm in 2018. Since then, she has exhibited at a number of galleries in Stockholm and on Gotland. Monica draws her inspiration primarily from Gotland’s natural landscape and has a particular fondness for lambs. She paints mainly in acrylics and enjoys experimenting with different techniques and motifs. Monica also enjoys writing and has published three books for children and young adults: *Breathe and Count to Three*, *Close Your Eyes and Kiss Me* and *Sami Saves Joy*.
