Objectives: To teach participants how to renovate their own windows using sustainable and traditional methods. To understand the materials and techniques involved in window renovation.To understand the benefits of linseed oil paint and traditional methods. To provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge for renovating windows in a way that preserves both aesthetics and functionality over time, with a focus on sustainability and traditional methods.Course content: Introduction to sustainable window renovation; Inspection of participants’ own windows and assessment of the work required; Removal of old paint and putty using techniques such as a heat gun and scraping tools; Sanding, cleaning and priming the window; Introduction to linseed oil paint and painting techniques; Use of putty and correct application techniques; Any necessary adjustment of fittings and hinges; Tips for maintenance and care. Prerequisites: No prior knowledge is required, but an interest in craftsmanship is an advantage. Good to know The course takes place in the garden at Amalias Ateljé in Stenkumla. There is no additional cost for materials as you bring whatever you wish to use. The course runs over a weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 15:15 on both days. Materials and tools: Please bring your own window, tools, chosen paint and trestles. The course leader recommends and teaches using linseed oil paint. Clothing: Work clothes are recommended.
