Visit Stavgard Viking Farm in Burs!

Stavgard is a unique place in southern Gotland, in the parish of Burs. The area is home to numerous Iron Age remains – including the ruins of the second-largest longhouse in the Nordic region, believed to be the home of the hero Beowulf. An entire Viking farmstead has been reconstructed here, and during the summer months it is brought to life by Vikings and visitors. Here, iron objects are forged, fabrics are woven and herbs are grown – just as they were in the Viking Age! Archers and warriors also train here, and tales and myths are told by the fire.
